David A.
Sumner is from Long Island, NY. As a senior at Northport
High School, he was selected as the best football player in
Suffolk County, and drafted by the New York Mets in the
sixth round of the Major League Baseball draft in 1992. Dave
opted to forgo his Baseball career and attend the University
of Pittsburgh on a Football Scholarship where he started all
four years and studied Legal Studies/ Criminal Justice.
Dave has been a personal trainer since 2001 and is certified
through N.A.S.M. He added M.A.T. Jump Start, Pilates, Kettle
Bells, Plyometrics, and Integrated Flexibility Training (IFT)
to his resume to progressively improve his clients’
performance. “I believe in circuit training because of its
similarities to daily activities and athletic performance.”
David is particularly attracted to training mature clients
and the weekend warriors because they apply the techniques
and information they are given for faster improvement of
balance, eye hand coordination, and flexibility.
When not training you can find Dave a.k.a (D-Sum) playing
tennis, capoeira, hiking, jet skiing, white water rafting,
and horseback riding as a tour guide with Living 4
Adventure. “My goal is to create a holistic program that
improves energy levels, mental focus, and self-esteem
through proper nutrition and exercise for overall quality of
life." |
