Linda Lang

Yoga Instructor

Linda was raised light-years from here in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. She has lived in the D.C. suburbs since 1973. Her wonderful life includes a home in Cabin John and a loving partner who is the yang to her yin. Linda has two amazing adult children, Max with his wife Katrina, and Madelyn. She is so grateful that they are hers. Together, these precious souls bring joy and meaning to her life.

“I teach because yoga is my passion. I fell in love with the philosophy of the East when the Beatles introduced Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to the world in the ‘60’s. These early studies have resulted in a lifetime commitment to sharing the mystery of body-mind-spirit. I love knowing about anatomy and physiology, and use this knowledge to help people avoid and overcome illness and injury.

My specialty is healing arts. My training is in therapeutic yoga, meditation and specialty massage, specifically Thai yoga massage and Reiki. My work with special conditions (everything from cardiac disease, cancers, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s, chronic pain) has been recognized and endorsed by Shady Grove Adventist Wellness Program.

The accomplishments for which I am most proud: I’ve parented two children who have a deep love of life and its adventures. I feel accomplished in that I can fully celebrate my unique path; I have found my purpose and my voice. Also, I have always wanted to help people discover their inner greatness. I believe that teaching yoga allows that to happen. And that is huge.

In my off time, I enjoy stillness. I write, cook, and listen to music. I love sharing this life with my wonderful partner. My personal fun fact is that I am playing more, and learning the most challenging yoga postures in my fifties. My headstands spring automatically from an irresistible impulse to rise, backbends flow more deeply and with greater ease than imaginable, and balancing evolve more from a connection to the sky and stars than the draw of earth’s gravity.”
