Pilates is a method of body conditioning that combines muscle strengthening and lengthening.  Pilates exercises strengthen the core of the body and also restore muscle balance to the musculoskeletal system. 

Level Fitness has two fully equipped Pilates Studios with Balanced Body equipment.  We offer daily private, semi-private, and small group sessions, as well as mat classes.  Our participants range in age from pre-teens to those in their eighties.  All instructors are certified in full Pilates apparatus training.

Barbara Spieth MSEd, Pilates Instructor at Level enjoys the rehabilitative aspect of Pilates and has taken advanced trainings in Pilates Spine Health, specializing in osteoporosis, scoliosis, arthritis, and other spine issues.  We offer private and small group classes that emphasize osteoporosis prevention and spine healthy exercises.  Her other specialty is Pilates for golfers. Barbara is ready to help her clients improve their game.

 Level’s Pilates Instructors work with a wide range of individuals from rehabilitation to athletes – and everything in between.  Pilates is a great type of exercise modality as a follow up to physical therapy after an injury or surgery, as Pilates strengthens the whole body around the injured part. 

 Many sports including Golf and Tennis involve rotation or repetitive movements which can cause imbalances or overuse injuries.  Incorporating Pilates into the training regime can develop greater stability, core control, and range of motion, while decreasing fatigue, injuries, and biomechanical issues.  Repetitive movement from endurance activities such as running and cycling can cause imbalances in the body.  Pilates strengthens the weaker muscles and lengthens the tighter ones.

 Pilates is suitable for those who have never exercised and are looking to improve their mobility and to be pain free.  On the other end of the spectrum, the advanced exercise enthusiast will find improvement in their existing fitness level through strength in their core.
