Lisa Platnik -
Director of Group Fitness and Pilates
Lisa has been teaching group exercise and personal training
for over 15 years. She is best known for her high energy
teaching style, innovative classes, and her positive
motivation and dedication to her students.
Her diverse background in fitness involves teaching a
variety of classes from Pilates, step, BOSU, and kickboxing
just to mention a few. Along with a B.A in Anthropology from
University of Maryland, she holds several fitness
certifications including: Personal training certification
from New York University, ACE Group Exercise, Pilates
Certifications by Quantum Fitness, Stott Physical Mind, and
Powerhouse. Pre-and Post Natal, Yoga Fit Levels I,II, and
children. Yamuna Body Rolling. Reebok University-
Core-board, Cycle, Flexible Strength, Rep Reebok. Resist-a
–ball, Hydro-fit.
Lisa strives to create successful exercise programs that
increase fitness levels, inspire the joy of exercise,
enhance the mind/body connection, and improve the overall

Janet Reed - Director of
Membership Services
Janet graduated from Salisbury
University in 2006 with a degree
in Exercise Science. At
Salisbury, she held an intern
position with the Strength and
Conditioning Program. While
there she trained top caliber
athletes in many different
disciplines. She was able to
experience many new concepts in
the world of strength and
conditioning, which allowed her
to obtain her certification from
American Fitness Professionals
and Associates (AFPA) as a Sport
Conditioning Specialist. Janet
also has an (AFPA) Personal
Training Certification.
Janet a Beltsville, MD native
has been actively involved in
sports since her earliest days.
Her love for sports health,
along with her friendly smile
and warming personality, is a
great addition to the Level
team. |

Sarah Kandel
- Owner
An Awesome wife and loving mother to Zack (11), and
Jacob (9), Sarah is an incredible role model for the 40
something modern women.
After having two children, and not quite having the
body she started with before kids, Sarah turned to
fitness as a way of life. Proper eating, daily cardio
workouts, and weight training 3 times a week, Sarah
transformed her body into the best shape she has ever
been in.
In addition, she has the energy to put most 18 year
olds to shame. Sarah is proof that you can have it all!

Michael Kamins
- Personal Fitness Trainer
Michael is a certified personal trainer by way
of NESTA, the National Endurance and Sport
Training Association. He has worked with age
groups varying from pre-teen to early 60's.
Michael graduated from Salisbury University,
where he majored in Conflict Analysis and
Dispute Resolution. He is currently completing
his Masters of Science degree in Negotiations
and Conflict Management at the University of
Baltimore. Michael is adept at sport specific
training, interval training systems, speed and
agility improvement, plyometric training, as
well as lean muscle mass gain and fat loss.
Michael has just completed his first book,
Hot-Body.101.
It is a complete diet and exercise program
geared toward young adults who go away to
college and experience the "Freshman Fifteen"
(weight gain) or for anyone who deals with an

Carolyn
Evans - Personal Trainer
Carolyn began her fitness career with a solid foundation in dance. In New York City, she attended Tisch School of the Arts and was awarded a dance scholarship with The Dance Theater of Harlem. With her dance background and a love of physical fitness, Carolyn set her sights on fitness and aerobics competitions. Just six months after preparing for her very first National Aerobics Championships she placed third in nation. Over the next six years Carolyn placed in over twenty national and international fitness competitions and has taken first place in The Fitness Universe, Fitness Europe, and the ESPN 2 series Fitness America Pageant. Carolyn has been featured in countless fitness magazines, such as Oxygen, Natural Muscle, and Fitness Rx, and has appeared on ESPN and ESPN 2. Carolyn currently holds a variety of fitness certifications with NSPA, ACE, AHA, Mad Dogg Athletics, and PowerHouse Pilates. |
At Level, Carolyn has found an opportunity to pursue her real passion: helping people reach their fitness goals. Carolyn enjoys creating effective workout routines that harmonize with unique lifestyles. Rami
Eraifeg - Personal Trainer
Rami graduated from Salisbury University in the spring of 2002 and received his B.S. in Business Management. Rami has always been into physical activity from his early days playing various sports, to currently where he is an NSPA certified personal trainer and an avid weight lifter.
Rami has held management positions at The Sports Authority and Cornerstone Financial, but has been at Level since May of 2004(Grand Opening). Rami believes Level is an extraordinary place to work at and workout in. Rami’s greatest achievement was creating his ripped and cut physique while training with his friend and Level trainer Mike Kamins who was also his college roommate. Since working at Level, Rami has been a great asset and is excited about learning more in the fitness industry.

Kelley - Personal Trainer
Has been
a personal trainer for 10 years and
enjoys training people of all
fitness levels. He is certified with
the National Academy of Sports
Medicine and is a graduate of the
University of Maryland. John
motivates clients in a fun and
educational atmosphere where they
can expect to improve their health,
reduce stress, increase energy,
strength, and endurance, and realize
improvements with balance,
appearance, and overall health. He
specializes in aesthetic training,
strength and/or power training,
circuit training, athletic training,
functional training, and sports
specific training. John believes
that fitness is the key to
empowering all of us to lead
physically and mentally fulfilling

Jean Batravil - Personal
Trainer
Jean is a former All-Met
football star who is
knowledgeable in sport specific
training, circuit training,
adolescent training, and
strength training. Jean is
certified nationally by the
National Endurance Sports
Training Association. Jean
graduated from Virginia Tech and
is an Hokie fan. Outside of work
Jean enjoys losing money in
various gambling exploits,
specifically poker and
blackjack. Jean is a former
United States Army Reservist
(Infantry)
Although he us skilled in all
types of training, he employs
many of his military training
background into clients'
training routines. Jean combines
a tailored, progressive and
goal-set specific training
approach with a fun,
ever-evolving, rigorous training
regimen to help you achieve your

Senz - Fitness
Instructor
Originally from Washington State, Gina is a Pilates Mat Instructor
certified by Quantum Fitness. She has received her Level I
reformer certification from Powerhouse Pilates and is continuing
her studies with the Wunda Chair and the Cadillac. Gina is
also certified by Yogafit. |

Barbara Spieth -Pilates Instructor
Brings her experience as
Pilates Instructor and Physical
Education Instructor to Level
Fitness. She has her MS Ed in
Physical Education and has
taught in the community college
and junior high levels,
Barbara is certified in Pilates
Equipment and Mat through
Quantum Pilates, and Mat Pilates
certified through Physical Mind
Institute. She is also a
certified RYT Yoga Instructor
through Yoga Alliance/ Yoga Fit,
Pre and Post Natal, Seniors, and
also holds ACE Group Fitness and
ACE Personal Trainer
Certifications. She has also
been an ACE Continuing Education
Provider in Pilates.
Barbara especially enjoys the
rehabilitation aspect of Pilates
Training and has taken advanced
training in Pilates Spine
Health, specializing in
Osteoporosis, Scoliosis, and
other spine issues. |

Stern Lang -

Instructor
A teacher of yoga and healing arts, with certification in
the medical, therapeutic arena of Cardiac Yoga.
A devoted student of eastern philosophy and yoga, she has
studied extensively with Anusaraä founder John Friend,
and has earned coveted “affiliation” within this
community of yoga teachers.
Using clear, concise instruction in heart-centered language,
her teachings convey a deep appreciation of the power of this
ancient practice. Linda’s therapeutic approach gives
each student a safe and supportive environment to strengthen
and build confidence.

Juliet
Rodman, RD, LD, CFT
Juliet is a recognized speaker, columnist and counselor
in the fields of nutrition, metabolism and fitness. Using
her unique blend of compassion and wit, Juliet translates
cutting edge science into easy to understand information
and advice for men and women who want to improve their
health using diet and exercise.
Juliet is known as a trained "hybrid"; both
personal trainer and registered dietitian. She is an
avid runner and weight trainer who practices what she
preaches! Her professional goals are to inspire, motivate
and bring each individual closer to their desired health
goals. Juliet formally worked with Dr. Pamela Peeke,
author of Fighting Fat after Forty as director of Nutrition
for The Peeke Performance
Center in Bethesda, MD. She
currently
speaks about health and wellness to local metropolitan
sports teams and corporate clients. Juliet
received her Bachelor of Science in Fitness
Education from Guilford College, an additional
undergraduate degree in Dietetics from The University
of Maryland, and a postgraduate Dietetic Certification
from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. |
